statement of faith

God

We believe there is only one God, true and living, the one who created the world and sustains it. He is eternal, infinite, living, righteous, just, merciful, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, and immutable. He eternally exists in three persons, namely, God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person of the triune God is equal in nature and substance, and all three are harmonious in execution of their distinct offices.

God the Father

We believe God the Father to be a spiritual being. He planned the work of creation, providence, and redemption. He is the Father of all believers in Christ.

God the Son

We believe God the Son to be a spiritual being. The Son was revealed in bodily form in the person of Jesus Christ being fully human and divine. His incarnation was purposed as the redemptive work of salvation through his death on the cross and giving those who believe in him new life and hope through his resurrection. He is our mediator and intercessor. He shall personally and bodily return a second time to judge righteously the living and the dead and bring all creation under his Lordship.

God the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit to be the third person of the Trinity. He is revealed in both the Old and New Testaments. The work of the Holy Spirit is to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He bears witness to the truth. He dwells in the hearts of every believer and produces the fruit of his character (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). He endows believers with gifts to serve the body of Christ.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the written Word of God. It was inspired by God and consists of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. The Bible is the final authority pertaining to life, faith, practice and godliness. The Bible is above creed and tradition. It is without error in the original manuscripts.

Man

We believe God created man, male and female, after His own image and likeness. At creation, man was totally innocent and enjoyed full fellowship with God. The primary purpose of man was to glorify God. Through Satan's temptation, man sinned against God and came under the curse of sin and death. The Fall of man brought the entire human race into guilt and corruption unable to please God.

Salvation

Man as God’s creation needed salvation and return to the primary purpose of glorifying God. Jesus Christ is the only name given by which man can be saved by believing and confessing Jesus Christ as the son of God who was crucified, buried and rose again from death. Salvation is God’s gracious gift to man.

Church

We believe the church is the people of God who have been called out of darkness to live as a household of faith in unity and peace propagating the good news of Jesus Christ to the world. The church celebrates and participates in the Holy Communion which is an ordinance done as often as needed. The church conducts Baptism as an ordinance upon a person’s conversion through faith in Jesus Christ.
